A new Atlanta-based Visa office will create an estimated 1,000 jobs, according to Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp.
“1,000 new jobs! Thanks to our strategic investments in workforce development initiatives, Georgia is a growing hub for the #FinTech industry,” Gov.Kemp announced in a tweet. “I look forward to seeing the opportunities this @Visa (@VisaNews) expansion creates for Georgians.”
The 123,000-square-foot office will be at 1200 Peachtree St. in Midtown. It is scheduled to open in 2022.
The new location will serve as support for Visa’s clients, partners and local communities across the Atlanta metropolitan area.
“It’s always great to see a world-renowned company like Visa capitalize on the exceptional pool of diverse talent in Georgia and choose to invest in our state,” Kemp added.
The initiative was represented by the Director of Corporate Solutions and Cybersecurity Kristi Brigman, who represented the Georgia Department of Economic Development’s (GDEcD) Global Commerce division. It was completed through a partnership with Fulton County, the Metro Atlanta Chamber and Georgia Power.
“As the starting point for Atlanta’s Transaction Alley, Fulton County is a national leader in FinTech talent,” Chairman of the Fulton County Board of Commissioners Robb Pitts said in a statement. “We are thrilled such a strong company like Visa has decided to invest in our vibrant and tech-centric community.”
