FULTON COUNTY: Commissioner Marvin Arrington Appointed to NACo Leadership Posts

Fulton County issued the following announcement on Aug. 30. 

Fulton County District 5 Commissioner Marvin S. Arrington, Jr. was appointed to leadership positions during the annual meeting of the National Association of Counties (NACo). The leadership appointments will allow Commissioner Arrington to participate in several major initiatives facing communities in Fulton County as well as throughout the nation.

Commissioner Arrington has been named a Vice Chair of NACo’s Arts and Culture Commission and a Vice Chair of NACo’s Justice and Public Safety Steering Committee. The District 5 Commissioner will serve on both committees for the 2021-2022 term.

“I’m thankful for the opportunity to serve as a Vice Chair for in Arts & Culture and Justice & Public Safety,” said Commissioner Arrington. “My goal is to continue to learn and extract information from NACo that will be helpful to Fulton County. In addition, I hope to share insights about the great work Fulton County is doing so that we can help other counties throughout the nation.”

Commissioner Marvin Arrington, Jr. represents Fulton County District 5, which encompasses East Atlanta, East Point, South Fulton, and small parts of Union City and College Park. A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Mr. Arrington is a renowned "Super" lawyer with over 25 years of litigation and judicial process. For the past four years, he has served as a Fulton County Executive Sponsor of Arts and Culture; and now, serves as a Priority Area Liaison for Arts & Libraries and Economic Development & Infrastructure.
