39 percent of applicants to Spelman College were admitted for fall 2018

At Spelman College, 99 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 100 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in Atlanta enrolled 2,171 students in fall 2018, all in undergraduate programs, data shows. 1.8 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

23 percent of undergraduates are residents of Georgia, and 76 percent are residents of other states. 1 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as Black or African American (97 percent) and American Indian or Alaska Native (2 percent).

The school admitted 39 percent of the 9,451 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 15 percent enrolled.
