Atlanta Falcons offensive lineman Storm Norton will miss the rest of the 2025 season after reverting to injured reserve. Norton had been designated to return from IR on October 22, which allowed him a 21-day window to practice before a final decision was made about his roster status. The team did not activate him to their 53-man roster by the end of this period, leading to his placement on season-ending injured reserve.

Norton began practicing in Week 8 and participated fully in all sessions, but was ruled out for both the Falcons’ losses against the Miami Dolphins and New England Patriots. He practiced at the start of Week 9 but missed Friday’s session and was again ruled out for that week’s game.

When asked about Norton’s recovery in Week 10, head coach Raheem Morris said, “We’ll get a feel. But it wasn’t great news. It’s something I don’t want to speak in all the full medical terms (until) I talked to our guys about it and what we’re going to do with it. So, we’ll have to figure it out.”

Norton did not practice during Week 10 or travel with the team for their international game against the Indianapolis Colts in Berlin, which Atlanta lost.

Earlier in the year, Norton was placed on injured reserve alongside defensive lineman TaQuon Graham when the initial roster was set. Graham has since returned from injury but was recently released by the team. Norton reportedly underwent ankle surgery on August 20; upon returning to practice he was listed as having a foot injury.

On Wednesday, inside linebacker Malik Verdon was designated to return from reserve/non-football injury while safety Jammie Robinson joined Atlanta’s practice squad. Verdon had been placed on the NFI list at training camp’s start and remained there through preseason; he signed with Atlanta as an undrafted free agent during the offseason and could see his first NFL regular-season action if he practices this week.

Robinson arrives after two seasons with the Carolina Panthers where he made two starts over 21 appearances and recorded 20 tackles. He has yet to play during this season.

These roster moves come ahead of Atlanta’s Week 11 rematch against Carolina at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
