The typical weekend for college students often involves studying, socializing, or exercising. However, Georgia Tech biomedical engineering student Jacob Beldick recently spent his weekend testing the boundaries of human endurance.
Beldick participated in the Ultraman Florida event over three days, completing a 6.2-mile swim, a 261.4-mile bike ride, and a double marathon totaling 52.4 miles. Throughout this extreme 320-mile triathlon, he managed his nutrition, fatigue, and the mental challenges associated with ultra-endurance racing. He is now among the youngest to finish this demanding event.
“For me, it’s about pushing myself to the limits of my potential and seeing the kind of person I become as a result,” Beldick stated. “I also love being around other people striving to be the best versions of themselves, and Ultraman provided the perfect blend of both. I met so many incredible people while facing a challenge that shaped me into a stronger, more capable version of myself.”
Further details on Beldick's journey can be found on the College of Engineering website.
