January 2025 marked Atlanta's second hosting of the College Football Playoff (CFP) National Championship. Nearly 78,000 attendees gathered at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, experiencing southern hospitality and vibrant celebrations across the city. The event highlighted Atlanta as a premier destination for major sports events.

Mercedes-Benz Stadium is known for its accessibility and affordability. It is located next to the new Signia by Hilton Hotel and across from Centennial Yards, which will soon become a hub for entertainment in Downtown Atlanta. Despite its amenities, concession prices remain reasonable, allowing attendees to enjoy events fully.

Following the CFP National Championship, Atlanta has a busy schedule ahead. The Atlanta Sports Council has been actively promoting the city as a top choice for sporting events. This summer, it will host the 2025 MLB All-Star Game and the FIFA Club World Cup 2025. Other major sports events lined up include:

- NCAA Men’s Basketball Sweet 16 and Elite 8 in 2025

- FIFA Club World Cup in 2025

- MLB All-Star Game in 2025

- FIFA World Cup in 2026

- Super Bowl LXII in 2028

- NCAA Men’s Basketball Final Four in 2031

Atlanta is well-prepared to host these events safely with support from the state, city officials, and corporate partners. The recent CFP National Championship alone projected an estimated $75 million economic impact, with ticket prices exceeding $3,000 just before the game. These figures reflect high anticipation and attendance rates for upcoming events.

The Metro Atlanta Chamber (MAC) plays a crucial role as a catalyst for regional prosperity. MAC works to advance economic growth and improve quality of life across metro Atlanta's 29 counties by promoting economic development and advocating for competitive business climates.
