The Atlanta Falcons have confirmed the release of cornerback Kevin King. The announcement was made on Friday.

King, aged 29, became part of the Falcons as a free agent during this offseason. He had previously been a starter with the Green Bay Packers but took a break from football in 2022 due to personal reasons. In 2023, he suffered an Achilles tear while training for the season. Despite these setbacks, King emerged as a standout player in the Falcons' training camp, showcasing his ability to play various roles within the defense.

This season, King participated in five defensive snaps and 41 special teams snaps for Atlanta.

The Falcons are set to face their third consecutive division opponent this Sunday when they play against the Carolina Panthers. The game is scheduled for 4:25 p.m. ET at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina.
