FOIA Request to Dekalb County Regarding Vendor Payments on September 26, 2024. As part of our ongoing commitment to transparency and accountability in local government, we at DeKalb Times have sent a request under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act (5 ILCS 140) to Dekalb County.
The request specifically asks for a list of all payments made to vendors from January 1, 2024, until September 26, 2024. The information sought includes the vendor name, transaction date, transaction description, and amount.
As a media organization dedicated to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, access to public records is essential for us. It enables us to fulfill our professional responsibilities which include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.
We believe that as media professionals engaged in disseminating information to the public, we are eligible for a fee waiver for this request. We will continue our efforts in ensuring transparency and accountability in local governance and look forward to receiving the requested information from Dekalb County.
