State Representatives Mesha Mainor (R-Atlanta), Dexter Sharper (D-Valdosta) and Billy Mitchell (D-Stone Mountain) recently hosted the Influential Women of Georgia Day on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at the State Capitol.

“I was honored to recognize influential women who display grace, courage and conviction when serving Georgians,” said Rep. Mainor. “The honorees’ philanthropic commitment to communities across Georgia is notable and acknowledging their contributions is necessary.”

The Influential Women of Georgia 2024 Honorees include: Kandi Burruss, co-founder of Grammy-winning group Xcape, singer, songwriter, actress, serial entrepreneur, tv personality and philanthropist; Princess Barton-Lofters, CEO of Loft 2 Ent., show creator, producer, and tv personality; Jesseca Harris-Dupart, CEO of Kaleidoscope Hair Products, philanthropist and tv personality; Antwanette McLaughlin, CEO of the Spice Group, producer and brand strategist; Ebony Austin, CEO of Nouveau Bar & Grill, entrepreneur and philanthropist; Gocha Hawkins, founder of Gocha’s Breakfast Bar, serial entrepreneur, tv personality and philanthropist; Ellen Ector, fitness expert and founder of Gymnetics Fitness.

“The State of Georgia’s influence in film, television, and entertainment solidifies our state as the ‘Hollywood of the South,’” added Rep. Mainor. “The Georgia Film Office, within the Georgia Department of Economic Development, hosted approximately 400 productions, represented by 31 feature films, 55 independent films, 241 television and episodic productions, 40 commercials, and 23 music videos last fiscal year. Georgia is a global leader in film, TV, and streaming productions. I am proud of the work that Georgia is doing in this industry but even happier that we are providing quality-paying jobs for hardworking Georgians who fill the many behind-the-camera jobs that come with each project.”
