State Representative Rhonda Burnough, along with Senators Michael Rhett and Josh McLaurin, are set to host Women in Radio Day at the Georgia State Capitol on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at 9 a.m.
In a statement, Rep. Burnough expressed the importance of celebrating women in radio, saying, “When talking to Dee Hill, the founder of Celebrating Women in Radio, she explained that she celebrates women on the radio because it’s an acknowledgement that’s long overdue.” She also highlighted a historical fact, noting, “During our planning conversations, I learned that women were not allowed to be on the Radio past 7 p.m. in the early days.”
The event will feature Rep. Rhonda Burnough, Sen. Michael Rhett, Sen. Josh McLaurin, and other female radio personalities. It aims to recognize and honor the contributions of women in the radio industry.
