State Sen. Colton Moore (R-Trenton) was involved in what some are calling a physical assault after he investigated a tip about a so-called “hidden room” where illegal immigrants are being processed at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.
Moore took to X to note the incident.
“I went to Atlanta Airport after a Whistleblower reported to me a room guarded by U.S. Military FULL of Illegal Aliens,” Moore said on X.
"@BrianKempGA @JoeBiden this is a total dereliction of your duty and breach of public trust onto Georgians. GA Borders are Breached. TREASON!”
“We are being invaded and the State and Federal Government are backing this human trafficking operation of unimaginable size at the Largest Airport in the World.”
A video shows Moore walking through the airport before entering the "hidden room."
“We’re all getting them flights to where they need to be,” a man who identified himself as a volunteer from Team Libertad says in the video.
Moore asked, “where do they need to be?”
“All over the place,” the man answered.
“Where are they coming from?" Moore asked.
“As far as country of origin…also all over the place,” the man answered.
“Do you know why they come into the U.S.?” Morore asked.
The man then questioned why Moore was asking him about the illegal immigrants.
“I am a senator from northwest Georgia, I am not a big fan of human trafficking and just want to make sure everything is above board,” Moore said.
“So these are just recently documented travelers getting released from ICE, getting to where they need to be,” the man said in response.
The man said that Team Libertad is a non-governmental organization for which he volunteers.
“You cannot get a video,” the man said as Moore tried to point his camera towards everyone.
Meanwhile, a woman entered the frame of the video shouting, “No! No!”
The Daily Caller News Foundation reported on the scene, noting that Team Libertad helps illegal immigrants navigate the Atlanta airport. The military member serving as a guard for the room remains unexplained, and the National Guard of Georgia denies involvement, according to the report.
Moore, who captured the footage, described the chaos when attempting to film the crowded room, indicating a surge in migrants traveling through the airport.
“The room was absolutely packed with people from every continent on this planet,” Moore told the Daily Caller.
“When I took my phone and reached it up above the guy to get a better view of all the illegals in the room, that’s when chaos broke out. That’s when the U.S. Army guy took the phone. It was a scrimmage between he and I in order to get the phone back. And then he proceeded to tell me to get out of there and just made a real big scene out of it.”
Although the airport denies housing illegal immigrants on its premises, Moore's actions prompted a response from authorities concerned about privacy and security.
“When he tried to film them, he was ASSAULTED by a military official,” Daily Caller reporter Greg Price said on X.
Moore was suspended from the GOP Caucus in September after he called for a probe of Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, who infamously launched the wide-reaching case against former president Donald Trump and 17 others.
Trump faces 13 counts in the indictment.
