The health, wellness, safety, and security of our students, staff, and faculty are primary concerns of the Atlanta University Center Consortium. Our combined campus security agencies continue to be vigilant in securing the campuses we serve and working with the Atlanta Police Department handling an incident near the Atlanta University Center campus, at the Lyke House Catholic Newman Center, resulting in the loss of life of an Atlanta University Center student.
The Atlanta University Center Consortium grieves in the loss of life of Clark Atlanta University student, Jatonne Sterling, fellow student, athlete, and friend. We also send our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of Mr. Sterling and all that knew him.
We will continue to work with the leading agency in this investigation, Atlanta Police Department and continue to engage in our relationship with surrounding law enforcement agencies as this investigation continues to ensure the safety of the campuses we serve.
Clark Atlanta University, as well as the other campuses and the AUC-Student Health and Wellness Center, will provide counseling services.
