Georgia Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on May 20.
Governor Brian Kemp today announced that the Hyundai Motor Group, with an already established presence in Georgia, is investing in a second vehicle assembly plant. Located within the Savannah Harbor-Interstate 16 Corridor Joint Development Authority which includes Bryan, Bulloch, Chatham and Effingham counties, the new electric vehicle plant will represent the largest economic development project in the state’s history.
At time of this release the exact vehicles slated to be built at the new facility are yet to be announced.

The Georgia Chamber congratulates Governor Kemp and the state’s economic development team as well as the local community organizations on this important win for the new Georgia economy” said Georgia Chamber President and CEO Chris Clark. “Georgia recognizes the importance of embracing EVs and as part of our focus on the infrastructure of the future the Georgia Chamber will look to assist and collaborate with the Hyundai Motor Group as they create next-gen vehicles that will be built by a highly skilled and talented Georgia workforce.”
