The Atlanta Falcons are looking for a new director of pro personnel, as the Falcons and Steve Sabo agreed it is time for him to pursue other options.

"After 12 seasons with the Atlanta Falcons, I am looking to the future as Terry Fontenot and I have mutually decided it's time for a new opportunity," Sabo said in an article on the team's website.

Sabo had filled a number of roles in his time with the Falcons. Notably, he received credit for being part of the scouting team that identified late-round picks, such as Foye Oluokun, Russell Gage and Grady Jarrett, who ended up filling crucial holes on the roster. Sabo also spent time scouting in various regions, the Falcons reported.

"I've been fortunate to fill a variety of roles on both the college and pro sides for the organization, from area scout to director of college scouting to director of player personnel and pro director, and I am grateful for that," Sabo said.

While he was there, the team made several appearances in the playoffs, including a trip to the Super Bowl in 2017, the Falcons reported.
