Lance Stephenson signed a 10-day contract with the Hawks making it his third time playing for head coach Nate McMillan, the team said in a Dec. 22 release.

"The 40th overall pick of the 2010 NBA Draft by the Indiana Pacers, Stephenson has appeared in 508 NBA games (199 starts) over his nine-year career, owning averages of 8.6 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 23.4 minutes (.444 FG%, .315 3FG%, .685 FT%)," the team said on its website.

The 6-6 Stephenson comes to Atlanta from the NBA G League affiliate of the Denver Nuggets, where he started 12 games, averaging 19.8 points, 8 rebounds, and 4.3 assists in 35.0 minutes per contest this season.

Stephenson spent 2019-20 playing for the Liaoning Dinosaurs of the Chinese Basketball Association. He averaged 26.7 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.1 steals in 34.8 minutes.

Stephenson has seen action in 57 postseason games throughout his NBA career, recording 11.1 points, 5.6 rebounds and 3.2 assists in 30.5 minutes.

Stephenson made his last appearance in the NBA back in 2018-19 with the Los Angeles Lakers. In that season, he was part of 68 games in total averaging 16.5 minutes in each game. However, Stephenson is popularly known for the days he spent with Indiana Pacers, where he rose to fame for blowing in LeBron James' ear while guarding him.
