GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY: DPS Coordinates 34th Wave of its Multi-Agency Crime Suppression and Street Racing Enforcement Detail

Georgia Department of Public Safety issued the following announcement on Dec. 20. 

Over this past weekend, Dec. 17-19, the Georgia Department of Public Safety (DPS) coordinated the 34th wave of its multi-agency crime suppression detail in Atlanta. The multi-agency detail includes the Georgia State Patrol (GSP), Motor Carrier Compliance Division, Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Department of Natural Resources, Department of Community Supervision, and the Atlanta Police Department. 

Below is the total enforcement activity by DPS for this past weekend, Dec. 17-19: 

 

Enforcement Totals During Dec. 17-19:                

Vehicle stops – 488

DUIs - 12

Reckless Driving – 8

Citations / Arrests – 282

Warnings – 434

Pursuits – 11

Wanted Persons – 2  

Stolen Weapons - 1

Recovered Weapons - 5

Impounded Vehicles – 24

Stolen Vehicles recovered – 9

Drug Arrests – 7

In addition to the weekend details, below are the combined totals of all 34 weekend waves of the crime suppression/street racing enforcement detail and the GSP Crime Suppression Unit’s efforts since April 2021:
