To call Cordarrelle Patterson a key weapon in Matt Ryan’s arsenal is a bit of an understatement.
Since signing a one-year agreement with the Atlanta Falcons, the former first-rounder from Tennessee has been off to a hot start.
While Atlanta dropped 34-30 nailbiter to the Washington Football Team, Patterson had himself a career day, hauling in three touchdown passes to bring his season total as of Oct. 8 to four, a team-issued press release said.
The performance wowed linebacker Foye Oluokun.
"I love that boy," Oluokun said in the release. "He plays with heart. Mike Davis plays with heart. I think our whole team, we got a chip on our shoulder."
Up until he suited up for the Falcons, Patterson carried a reputation as being a special teams stalwart at best.
His four touchdowns in just four games ties his career high for TDs set in 2013, the release said.
