71 percent of applicants to Georgia State University were admitted for fall 2018

At Georgia State University, 82 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 59 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Atlanta enrolled 34,316 students in fall 2018, including 27,231 in undergraduate and 7,085 in graduate programs, data shows. 6.8 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

80 percent of undergraduates are residents of Georgia, and 16 percent are residents of other states. 4 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as Black or African American (41 percent) and white (23 percent).

The school admitted 71 percent of the 16,348 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 43 percent enrolled.
