On Saturday, Nov. 22, Tyree Nelson, a former standout at Benjamin E. Mays High School, saw his current team, the Valdosta State Blazers, fall 30-35 to the Albany State Golden Rams in the NCAA Division II Football Championship.

The contest was held at ASU Coliseum at 1 p.m. and marked the first tournament meeting between Valdosta State and Albany State.
