The Metro Atlanta Chamber (MAC) continued its efforts to connect young professionals with career opportunities through the 2025 edition of ATL Interns After 5. The program, designed to help students experience life and work in metro Atlanta, offered a variety of events including large gatherings at locations such as World of Coca-Cola, TK Elevator, and Your 3rd Spot. Smaller meetups took place at local venues like Bluetop Chamblee, Ladybird, and Mutation Brewing.

Interns participated in virtual lunch-and-learn sessions on professional topics such as interview etiquette and LinkedIn optimization. They also learned about the Georgia Intern App, MAC’s digital tool that links students to regional career opportunities. This year’s program attracted participants from 243 colleges across the country.

According to MAC data, more than 1,900 interns joined the program this summer. Nearly nine out of ten—88.4%—indicated plans to start their careers in metro Atlanta.

“ATL Interns After 5 continues to highlight why metro Atlanta is a top choice for emerging talent,” said Katie Kirkpatrick, President and CEO of the Metro Atlanta Chamber. “This summer, we welcomed more than 1,900 interns. With 88% planning to launch their careers in the region, it’s clear this initiative is connecting the next generation of professionals with the opportunities and community that make metro Atlanta a place where careers and lives can truly flourish.”

The Chamber views ATL Interns After 5 as an important part of its workforce strategy aimed at attracting top students to consider both career and personal growth in the area. MAC has stated its commitment to supporting talent development and advancing economic mobility throughout metro Atlanta.
