On Saturday, Nov. 22, the Valdosta State Blazers, featuring former Maynard H. Jackson High School standout Jalan Davis, were defeated 35-30 by the Albany State Golden Rams in the NCAA Division II Football Championship.

The contest, which kicked off at 1 p.m., took place at ASU Coliseum and marked the first tournament meeting between Valdosta State and the Albany State Golden Rams.
