Jason R. Anavitarte, a Republican elected to the Georgia State Senate in 2021 to represent the state’s 31st Senate District, recently made several posts on social media expressing his views on national security, media practices, and college sports.

On September 2, 2025, Anavitarte commented on U.S. efforts against narcotics trafficking, stating: “America should not stand for the narco terrorists that impact America and our citizens. Good work @POTUS and @marcorubio “. The post appeared to commend both President Joe Biden and Senator Marco Rubio for their actions related to combatting drug-related crime.

Later that day, Anavitarte criticized members of the media regarding their own safety measures, posting: “Crazy media knows they are locked secured and armed with security…”.

In a separate message focused on college athletics, Anavitarte expressed support for Georgia Tech’s football team and its coach Brent Key by posting: ” Go Jackets! @CoachBrentKeyGT”.

Anavitarte has served as a state senator since replacing Bill Heath in 2021. His recent online statements reflect engagement with both national policy issues and local interests such as college sports.
