Jason R. Anavitarte, a Republican elected to the Georgia State Senate in 2021 representing the 31st District, posted a series of tweets on January 3, 2026, addressing recent developments involving Nicolás Maduro and alleged support for narco-terrorist organizations.

In his first post at 13:25 UTC, Anavitarte stated, “Key point that has been fact for a long while.”

Later that day at 18:13 UTC, he expressed gratitude towards the U.S. military for their actions against Nicolás Maduro. He wrote, “I am grateful to the brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces who carried out the targeted surgical arrest of Nicolás Maduro, the leader of the Cartel de los Soles. For years, this narco-terrorist organization has fueled gang violence, drug trafficking, and”

In another tweet at 18:56 UTC on January 3rd, Anavitarte commented on political support for such organizations within the United States. He posted, “This guy supporting narco terrorists as the Mayor of a major American city.”

Anavitarte began serving in Georgia’s State Senate after winning election in 2021 to represent District 31. He succeeded Bill Heath in this role.
