Jason R. Anavitarte, a Republican state senator representing Georgia’s 31st Senate District since 2021, has recently posted several statements on his social media account addressing cultural and policy issues.
On August 22, 2025, Anavitarte posted a message of encouragement: “Keep on truckin! https://t.co/UhHhN1eDzg”.
Later that same day, he commented on the use of the term “Latinx,” stating: “Very similar to when woke Hispanics had to go out there and create a fake offensive term like LatinX to appeal to what they thought were market trends… that hasn’t turned out so well for them either. https://t.co/ZMrYU87Uq5”.
On August 24, 2025, Anavitarte addressed concerns about Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) policies in collegiate athletics: “A few years ago I voted against our state opting into the NIL world as my concern was always that we would see pay-for-play disguised as NIL deals. Anavitarte began serving in the Georgia State Senate in 2021 after succeeding Bill Heath. As a member of the legislature, he has been involved in debates over education policy and cultural topics within the state.
