Jason R. Anavitarte, a Republican member of the Georgia State Senate representing the 31st District since 2021, has recently posted several statements on his social media account addressing both sports and legislative matters.

On March 8, 2026, Anavitarte expressed optimism about the future of Georgia Tech Men’s Basketball, stating: “Ready for the next chapter of @GTMBB. We will get there. Confident in our leadership to put us on a pathway to win a championship. “

Two days later, on March 10, he commented on committee proceedings involving transparency and foreign funding in American institutions. He wrote: “Love how Democrats on this committee don’t want to disclose foreign adversaries giving money to American institutions, but want to protect folks ‘in a far off land’ using their words. Can’t have transparency as they say, by voting no. Good work by @houstongaines to get the bill”.

Shortly after that post, Anavitarte praised state leadership with another message: “Great work Guv “.

Anavitarte began serving in the Georgia State Senate after being elected in 2021, succeeding Bill Heath as representative for District 31.
