Matthew B. Bennett is currently a partner at Bennett & Connell, LLC, focusing on litigation and serving as Solicitor for several probate and municipal courts in Cook, Lanier, and Atkinson counties as well as Nashville, Ray City, and Homerville. He attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College and earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia before receiving his J.D. from Florida Coastal School of Law. He has provided pro bono representation for law enforcement officers involved in critical incidents. Previously a police officer recognized for lifesaving actions and Police Officer of the Year honors, Montgomery began his legal career as an Assistant District Attorney in the Eastern Judicial Circuit after earning degrees from the University of Maryland in Kinesiology and its School of Law.

Torrey D. Smith is Deputy City Attorney for Atlanta overseeing litigation and claims divisions within the Atlanta Law Department. His public service includes roles as staff attorney to Judge T. Robert D. “Bobby” Wolf currently serves as a judge on Fulton County Magistrate Court after prior work as prosecutor in Cobb County Solicitor-General’s Office and district attorney offices for Fulton and Gwinnett counties along with solo practice experience. Judge Wolf has served as president of the Georgia Council of Magistrate Court Judges; on the Judicial Council of Georgia; delegate to State Bar Board of Governors; member on Access to Justice committee; chair for Atlanta Bar Association’s Judicial Section; instructor through Georgia Institute of Continuing Legal Education; graduate/co-chair with Leadership Atlanta; member Lawyers Club Atlanta; Eagle Scout; former assistant scoutmaster; former Garden Hills Civic Association president; lifetime member The Temple.

These appointments reflect ongoing efforts by state government officials to maintain judicial operations across various circuits within Georgia’s court system—a responsibility overseen by the Government of Georgia, which provides governance across all counties under state law through its executive branch headquartered at 206 Washington Street in Atlanta (source).
