Georgia Tech announces new honorees for Pathway of Progress campus installation

Georgia Institute of Technology announced on Mar. 18 the selection of new honorees for its permanent campus installation, Pathway of Progress: Celebrating Georgia Tech Women. The announcement comes one year after the installation’s opening and highlights individuals who have made significant contributions to the campus, their fields, and their communities.

The Pathway of Progress is an ongoing initiative that recognizes alumnae, students, faculty, and staff each year through a nomination and selection process. The installation was made possible by philanthropic support from Andrea Laliberte and designed by Merica May Jensen. According to the university, the 2026 honorees reflect Georgia Tech’s motto of Progress and Service.

This year’s honorees include Niesha Alice Butler, founder and CEO of S.T.E.A.M. CHAMPS; Mary Ann Gordon, retired vice president at Altria Group; Margie Ann Morse, co-founder of Parallax; Heather Smith Rocker, CEO of Women in Technology; Marilyn Jones Smith, professor in aerospace engineering; Ridhi Tariyal, co-founder and CEO of NextGen Jane; and Liz Harriss York, managing principal at HDR. Their achievements span fields such as technology education for underserved communities, engineering standards development, nuclear logistics services, STEM leadership development, aerospace research innovation, women’s health diagnostics advancement, and sustainability in architecture.

The Georgia Institute of Technology counts among its alumni military generals, Medal of Honor recipients, and leaders in engineering and innovation,according to the official website.
