As early voting begins for the Georgia Public Service Commission, the Georgia Chamber of Commerce has announced its endorsement of Tim Echols, Commissioner from District 2, and Fitz Johnson, Commissioner from District 3 and Vice Chair of the PSC, for reelection. The endorsement comes from the Free Enterprise Fund, which is the Chamber’s political action committee.

Chris Clark, President & CEO of the Georgia Chamber, stated:

“Public Service Commissioners Tim Echols and Fitz Johnson are proven, thoughtful, and effective leaders. The statewide business community is exceedingly thankful for their service, and the Free Enterprise Fund is proud to endorse both commissioners for reelection.

“Because of the leadership from Commissioner Echols and Commissioner Johnson, Georgia has some of the lowest energy rates in the nation. Commissioner Echols and Commissioner Johnson both voted to freeze those rates for three years, keeping more money in the pockets of Georgia families, while providing stability for businesses in the state. They championed long-term investments in Georgia’s economic success by expanding access to natural gas, improving broadband, strengthening rail infrastructure. Commissioner Tim Echols and Commissioner Fitz Johnson have earned our trust, and they deserve to continue their important work bringing prosperity and opportunity to every corner of Georgia.”

The Georgia Chamber of Commerce was established in 1911 and incorporated in 1915. It is recognized as the largest business advocacy group in Georgia with offices located in Atlanta, Brunswick, and Tifton. In 2025, it introduced a strategic plan called Georgia|2050 aimed at supporting economic growth over the next quarter-century.
