FOIA Request to Atlanta Metropolitan State College Regarding Chinese National Students on June 4, 2025.

As part of our ongoing commitment to transparency and accountability in governmental affairs, ATL Standard has submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to Atlanta Metropolitan State College. The request seeks detailed information concerning Chinese National students currently enrolled at the institution.

The request specifically asks for documents or lists that identify all current students who are Chinese Nationals, including their respective departments of study. If privacy laws protect the disclosure of individual names, we have requested aggregated data showing the total number of such students broken down by department.

Additionally, we are seeking records related to scholarships awarded to these students. This includes the amount and source of each scholarship. We have also asked for information regarding any recipients of scholarships affiliated with the Chinese Scholarship Council.

Furthermore, our request includes a call for any university policies or procedures that outline how the institution monitors its students—particularly Chinese Nationals—to safeguard intellectual property and other confidential information.

This inquiry is conducted on behalf of ATL Standard and The Coalition Opposing Governmental Secrecy, a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing public access to government records. As members of the media, we emphasize that access to such public records is crucial for holding institutions accountable and ensuring transparency in their operations. We have requested a fee waiver based on our role in disseminating this vital information to the public.

We await a response from Atlanta Metropolitan State College and remain committed to informing our audience about developments in this matter.
