The Atlanta Falcons will play the Indianapolis Colts this Sunday at Olympic Stadium in Berlin, Germany, but will be without three players due to injuries. Left guard Matthew Bergeron (ankle), edge rusher Leonard Floyd (hamstring), and swing tackle Storm Norton (foot) have all been ruled out and will not travel with the team.
Bergeron and Floyd sustained their injuries during last Sunday’s game against the New England Patriots. Head coach Raheem Morris commented on Bergeron’s status, saying, “week-to-week,” and indicated it was unlikely Bergeron would be cleared to play this weekend. Kyle Hinton is expected to continue as Bergeron’s replacement.
Regarding Storm Norton, there are no new updates beyond what Morris stated earlier in the week: “not good news.” Norton had ankle surgery before the preseason ended and began his 21-day window to return two weeks ago. Although his recovery initially appeared positive, he has not participated in any of the team’s last three practices.
On a more positive note, starting right guard Chris Lindstrom (foot), defensive lineman Zach Harrison (knee), and nickel Billy Bowman Jr. (hamstring) are showing progress in their recoveries. All three took part in Thursday morning’s practice and will make the trip to Berlin.
Thursday’s injury report listed Billy Bowman Jr. (hamstring) and wide receiver Casey Washington (back) as full participants. Limited participants included safety Jessie Bates III (knee), cornerback Mike Hughes (neck), inside linebacker JD Bertrand (knee), Chris Lindstrom (foot), defensive lineman LaCale London (shoulder), and Zach Harrison (knee). Floyd, Bergeron, and Norton did not participate.
Both teams’ weekly injury reports can be found online for further details.
