The Atlanta Falcons are set to face the New England Patriots this Sunday with a healthier offensive lineup. Quarterback Michael Penix Jr. and wide receiver Drake London, both of whom missed last week’s loss to Miami due to injuries, are expected to return. Tight end Kyle Pitts and running back Tyler Allgeier were also not given a game designation in Friday’s injury report, indicating they will be available.
Wide receiver Casey Washington and offensive lineman Storm Norton have been ruled out for the upcoming game. Norton remains within his 21-day window to return from injured reserve after starting the season sidelined.
On defense, rookie pass rusher Jalon Walker could make his return after missing two games with a groin injury; he is listed as questionable for Sunday’s matchup at Gillette Stadium. Safety Jessie Bates III and edge rusher Leonard Floyd are also questionable. When asked about his status, Bates said Thursday, “I feel pretty good. We’ll see how things go (Thursday) in practice. As long as there’s no setbacks, I think I’ll be fine.”
However, cornerback Billy Bowman Jr. will miss his fourth consecutive game due to a hamstring injury, while defensive lineman Zach Harrison is out for the second straight week with a knee issue. Both players participated on a limited basis in Thursday’s practice but did not participate Friday and were ultimately ruled out.
Other notable names on Friday’s participation report include Darnell Mooney (hamstring), Natrone Brooks (shoulder), Kaden Elliss (resting player), Jake Matthews (ankle), Ta’Quon Graham (calf), and David Onyemata (resting player).
