The Atlanta Falcons and Los Angeles Rams are set to face off in Week 17, with both teams experiencing different seasons within their respective divisions.

In the NFC South, the Carolina Panthers lead with an 8-7 record, followed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at 7-8. The Atlanta Falcons are currently 6-9, and the New Orleans Saints stand at 5-10. Neither the Panthers nor Buccaneers have secured a playoff spot yet, while both the Falcons and Saints have been eliminated from postseason contention.

By contrast, the NFC West features three teams that have already clinched playoff berths: the Seattle Seahawks (12-3), San Francisco 49ers (11-4), and Los Angeles Rams (11-4). The Arizona Cardinals were eliminated after posting a 3-12 record.

Despite being out of playoff contention, Atlanta has managed to win two consecutive games since their elimination. The team is aiming to finish its season positively as it prepares for Monday’s home game against the Rams, who recently lost on the road.

“It’s unfortunate that we got eliminated,” Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts Sr. said. “But that doesn’t mean that we still can’t put good things on tape as a team and individually on offense and defense collectively. We always keep the main thing the main thing, trying to get as many wins as we can.”

NFL experts have shared their predictions for this matchup between Atlanta and Los Angeles. Additional picks and analysis can be found on ESPN, CBS Sports, Sports Illustrated, The Athletic and NFL Network.
