The Atlanta Falcons have made several roster changes ahead of their Week 2 “Sunday Night Football” matchup against the Minnesota Vikings.
On Saturday, the team placed safety Jordan Fuller on injured reserve due to a knee injury that kept him out of practice throughout the week. Fuller was ruled out for the upcoming game in Friday’s official report. He participated in only one defensive and 16 special teams snaps during last Sunday’s season-opening loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Fuller joined Atlanta as an offseason signing after five years in the NFL, having started 55 of his 57 career games, mainly with the Los Angeles Rams from 2020 to 2023 and briefly with the Carolina Panthers in 2024. Over his career, he has recorded seven interceptions, including three each in the 2020 and 2023 seasons.
In response to Fuller’s absence, wide receiver David Sills V was signed to the active roster. Sills initially made Atlanta’s roster after training camp but was released following Week 1 and then rejoined via the practice squad. He played two offensive snaps last Sunday without recording any statistics. Sills previously played for both the Denver Broncos and New York Giants, tallying his best numbers in 2022 with 11 receptions for 106 yards over nine games.
Additionally, kicker Parker Romo was elevated from the practice squad. Romo signed with Atlanta earlier this week after head coach Raheem Morris announced plans to bring in competition for current kicker Younghoe Koo, who missed a potential game-tying field goal against Tampa Bay. The team also confirmed that Koo will not travel to Minnesota for this week’s game.
Romo appeared in four games for Minnesota last season, successfully converting 11 of his 12 field goal attempts; his only miss came on a 43-yard try during a win over Arizona.
The Falcons are set to face off against the Vikings at U.S. Bank Stadium on Sunday at 8:20 p.m. ET, with live coverage provided by NBC.
NFL rules allow teams to elevate up to two players from their practice squad per game day, with each player eligible for three elevations per season before requiring a permanent spot on the active roster.
So far this season, Atlanta has elevated David Sills V and Carlos Washington Jr. (Week 1), as well as Parker Romo (Week 2).
