The Atlanta Falcons were unable to contain the Indianapolis Colts’ offense in their Week 10 matchup at Olympic Stadium in Berlin, losing 31-25 in overtime. The Colts, who came into the game as one of the league’s most explosive teams, accumulated a season-high 519 net yards against the Falcons. This was the first time this season that Indianapolis surpassed 500 total yards.

Falcons edge rusher Jalon Walker said before the game, “We do bring up like, ‘Hey, they’re an explosive offensive, they’re a good team.’ Of course. But I just feel like the way we prepare for anyone is the way we prepare for everyone.”

The Colts averaged seven yards per play and recorded 19 plays of at least 10 yards—matching their highest single-game total this season and setting a new high for most such plays allowed by Atlanta since 2022.

“It was a lot,” Falcons cornerback A.J. Terrell Jr. said after the game. “As the game goes — a 60-minute game — you really don’t know a play other than the explosive touchdowns. But definitely anything that was a touchdown. All the explosive touchdowns.”

The Colts scored three touchdowns in regulation: one on a short run from one yard out, another on a 37-yard pass, and an 83-yard rushing touchdown by running back Jonathan Taylor. Taylor finished with 244 rushing yards on 32 carries and now leads all NFL rushers after his performance against Atlanta. His long touchdown run was the longest scoring run in the NFL this season.

“Honestly,” Falcons inside linebacker Kaden Elliss said, “it’s just too bad his longest run really came on something where a lot of guys stopped playing, myself included. That’s just unacceptable for us as a defense. Go until you hear the whistle. That’s something that’s been preached since we were little.”

Taylor’s touchdown run surpassed Bijan Robinson’s previous mark for Atlanta earlier this year and added to the frustration for Falcons defenders.

“Props to him,” Elliss continued. “He kept his feet alive, kept going. We should be used to that. We see Bijan every single day in training camp and in practice. We know how hard it is to get one of those guys down. We got to keep hunting to that ball.”

Taylor also scored an eight-yard touchdown run in overtime that ended Indianapolis’ final drive and secured their win.

Colts quarterback Daniel Jones completed 11 of his 16 passes for 255 yards and one touchdown but threw one interception—picked off by Falcons safety Jessie Bates III—and was sacked seven times by seven different Atlanta defenders.

With this loss, Atlanta falls to a record of three wins and six losses as they prepare for two consecutive NFC South games against division rivals Carolina Panthers and New Orleans Saints.

“There are a lot of plays in my mind I want to go watch, a lot of plays I want back,” Falcons defensive lineman Brandon Dorlus said after the defeat. “Gotta avoid those types of plays. Can’t have that many mistakes in a game again.”
