Casey Washington, wide receiver for the Atlanta Falcons, was a full participant in practice on Thursday after progressing through the NFL’s concussion protocol. Washington had appeared on the team’s injury report following Atlanta’s Week 1 loss to Tampa Bay due to a concussion and missed practices before the team’s Week 2 win against Minnesota. Since then, he had only participated in a limited capacity.
NFL rules require that a player must fully participate in at least one practice before being eligible to play in an upcoming game. With Washington practicing without limitations on Thursday, he is expected to be available for Sunday’s game against the Commanders, provided there are no setbacks.
In addition to Washington’s return, tight end Kyle Pitts (toe) and safety DeMarcco Hellams (hamstring) also practiced fully on Thursday.
Other players remain limited or sidelined due to injuries. Wide receiver Jamal Agnew and edge rusher James Pearce Jr. were limited participants with groin injuries. Wide receiver KhaDarel Hodge (groin), cornerback A.J. Terrell (hamstring), running back Nathan Carter (hamstring), and inside linebacker Josh Woods (personal matter) did not participate in practice.
The team continues to monitor other key players’ health status ahead of Sunday’s matchup.
