“This hub is just one of 15 Amazon engines that provide rapid response to natural disasters around the world,” said Gindin-Wilson, Social Media Influencer and Business Coach, according to Instagram. “Amazon collaborates with local partners like the American Red Cross to stock more than a million pre-packaged emergency essentials. Their rugged off-road Disaster Response vehicle complete with technology to bring cloud capabilities right into disaster zones to support responders. I really enjoyed meeting the people and seeing the care behind this very worthwhile initiative.”
According to Amazon News, the company operates 15 Disaster Relief Hubs worldwide to assist communities in recovering from major emergencies. These hubs store essential emergency supplies such as hygiene kits, food, and shelter materials and are strategically located near transportation hubs for rapid deployment. The hubs are activated in coordination with trusted local partners to address immediate needs.
Since 2017, Amazon has responded to over 190 disasters globally. The company has delivered more than 25 million emergency relief items using its logistics network, including water, baby formula, and solar lights. These efforts have supported communities during hurricanes, wildfires, and earthquakes.
The Union City hub currently holds approximately 1.4 million pre-packed emergency items. Following the 2025 floods in Texas, Amazon utilized this hub to dispatch over 16,000 hygiene kits to affected areas. Additionally, it provided 20,000 ounces of baby formula to North Carolina after Hurricane Helene.
