Atlanta United FC has announced the signing of midfielder Adrian Gill from FC Barcelona. The contract extends through June 2027, with option years available until the 2029-30 season, and is subject to the receipt of his International Transfer Certificate.
“Adrian is a young midfielder with U.S. youth national team experience whose development path led him to one of the top academies in the world at Barcelona,” said Chief Soccer Officer and Sporting Director Chris Henderson. “We’re pleased to welcome him to the club and add more competition to our group of midfielders.”
Gill was born in Denver, Colorado, and holds citizenship in both the United States and Poland. He moved to Spain as a child and began his youth career at UE Cornellà in 2017 before joining FC Barcelona’s academy in 2018. After advancing through La Masia, he signed his first professional contract with Barcelona in 2022. Between 2024 and 2025, he played for Barcelona’s U-19 side and Barcelona B, later signing a contract extension in 2025 before returning on loan to UE Cornellà.
On the international stage, Gill has represented the United States at the U-17 level ten times between 2022 and 2023. His appearances include seven matches at the 2023 Concacaf U-17 Championship, where he recorded two assists as the U.S. team reached the final.
Gill joins Atlanta United FC as part of its roster that includes two goalkeepers, nine defenders, eleven midfielders including Gill himself, and five forwards. Some players are currently out on loan.
Atlanta United FC is based in Atlanta, Georgia, and competes in Major League Soccer’s Eastern Conference as a professional soccer team. Since its founding as an expansion franchise in 2017, Atlanta United has won several major titles such as the MLS Cup (2018), U.S. Open Cup (2019), and Campeones Cup (2019), according to their official website.
