Atlanta United has appointed Brad Guzan as Club Ambassador and Sporting Advisor. Guzan, who holds the record for most appearances in club history, will work under Chief Soccer Officer and Sporting Director Chris Henderson. In his new role, Guzan will contribute to various areas of soccer operations, including player recruitment, scouting, analytics, and youth development. He will also be involved in the club’s community initiatives and media efforts.

The breadth of Brad’s role will allow him to combine his championship experience as a player with an unmatched institutional knowledge of our club to positively impact our organization.”
Guzan was previously recognized by local press as Atlanta United’s Media Ambassador in 2024 and 2025. He has broadcasting experience with TNT Sports, Apple TV, FOX Sports, and Bally Sports South. As part of his ongoing community engagement, he will continue serving as an ambassador for the Unified Team.

Guzan was selected second overall in the 2005 MLS SuperDraft. Over his 21-year career with Chivas USA (2005-2008), Aston Villa (2008-2017), and Atlanta United (2017-2025), he made 551 club appearances and earned 64 caps with the U.S. Men’s National Team. He won three Concacaf Gold Cups with the national team and played key roles during Atlanta United’s victories in the MLS Cup (2018), Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup (2019), and Campeones Cup (2019). His international caps rank fifth among men’s goalkeepers in U.S. Soccer history.
Founded in 2017 as an expansion franchise based in Atlanta, Georgia, Atlanta United FC competes in Major League Soccer’s Eastern Conference. The team has secured major titles including the MLS Cup in 2018, U.S. Open Cup in 2019, and Campeones Cup in 2019 (official website).
Atlanta United begins its MLS Regular Season on Saturday, February 21 with an away game against FC Cincinnati broadcast nationally on FOX and Apple TV. The home opener is scheduled for March 7 against Real Salt Lake.
