Atlanta United 2 has announced the signing of three new players ahead of the 2026 MLS NEXT Pro season. Forward Liam Butts, defender Daniel Chica, and winger Cameron Dunbar have each agreed to one-year contracts with a club option for an additional year.
“We are excited to add Liam, Daniel and Cameron to our roster for the upcoming season,” said ATL UTD 2 head coach Jose Silva. “All three players will add quality and depth to our roster. We’re happy to bring Liam back to the organization after previously spending time in our Academy. He is coming off an excellent season scoring goals at the MLS NEXT Pro level. Daniel was one of the best center backs in NEXT Pro last year with Carolina Core, helping them reach the playoffs. Cameron brings MLS experience to our young team and he is a pure winger who will help us break defensive lines.”
Liam Butts, age 24, returns to Atlanta after a strong performance with New England Revolution II where he scored 13 goals in 24 matches during the previous season. This placed him tied for sixth among goal scorers in MLS NEXT Pro regular season play. Butts also contributed three assists and played over 1,500 minutes last season. Internationally, he represents Guyana and has made two appearances for their senior national team.
Daniel Chica, 23, joins from Carolina Core FC where he played for two seasons and helped his team reach the playoffs. Chica began his professional career at Loudon United FC following two years at George Mason University and later spent time at Lexington SC before joining Carolina Core. Over his career so far, Chica has made 40 appearances across all competitions.
Cameron Dunbar, also 23, comes from Orange County SC in the USL Championship. The former LA Galaxy academy player has Major League Soccer experience with both LA Galaxy and Minnesota United, totaling 20 MLS appearances before moving permanently to Orange County SC in 2023 after an initial loan period.
With these additions, Atlanta United 2’s roster as of December 17 includes James Donaldson and Jonathan Ransom as goalkeepers; Daniel Chica, Toto Majub, and Kaiden Moore as defenders; Cameron Dunbar, Ignacio Suarez-Couri, and Moises Tablante as midfielders; and Liam Butts, Arif Kovac, and Patrick Weah as forwards.
