Atlanta United 2 lost 2-1 to Orlando City B in their third and final meeting of the season, played in Kissimmee, Florida on August 23. Patrick Weah scored for Atlanta, marking his fourth goal contribution in as many games, with Santiago Pita registering his first professional assist.

The match began with both teams playing physically and neither side able to create significant chances early on. Toto Majub created Atlanta’s best opportunity in the 12th minute with a long ball into the box for Weah, whose header went over the bar.

In the second half, Atlanta opened the scoring in the 48th minute. DD Sibrian won possession in midfield and advanced down the right before passing to Pita. The 18-year-old moved into the box and sent a cross to Weah, who finished for Atlanta’s only goal.

Orlando equalized five minutes later after Colin Guske intercepted an Atlanta pass and set up Thalles, who scored from inside the box.

Physical play continued throughout the match. Majub received a yellow card in the 56th minute, which will suspend him from Atlanta’s next game.

Moises Tablante had a chance for Atlanta in the 69th minute but was denied by Orlando goalkeeper Carlos Mercado.

The winning goal came during stoppage time when Shak Mohammed capitalized on miscommunication between Jonathan Ransom and Ronan Wynne to score for Orlando City B.

Following this result, Atlanta United 2 holds a record of five wins, eight losses, and eight draws (25 points). The team will next play Inter Miami CF II at Fifth Third Stadium on August 27 at 7:30 p.m. ET.
