Atlanta United 2 lost 1-0 to Chattanooga FC in the penultimate match of the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro season. The game, initially scheduled for September 24 at Fifth Third Stadium, was halted in the 71st minute due to severe weather and resumed on October 2 at the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Training Ground.

Following the restart, Atlanta United 2 created several chances but could not find an equalizer. Toto Majub had a key opportunity from close range, but his shot hit the post. In stoppage time, Ryan Carmichael nearly leveled after a sequence involving Javier Armas, Gabriel Wesseh, and Patrick Weah, but Eldin Jakupović made a decisive save.

Chattanooga scored the only goal during the original portion of the match on September 24. In the 11th minute, Colin Thomas set up Daniel Mangarov for a left-footed shot that struck the bar and went in. Atlanta’s best chance in those first 70 minutes came from a free kick when Santiago Pita found Sal Mazzaferro, whose header was cleared after a save by Jakupović.

With this result, Atlanta United 2 remains one point outside a playoff spot ahead of their final regular-season game. The team will face Chattanooga FC again on Sunday, October 5 at Finley Stadium. Some matches are available with an MLS Season Pass subscription through Apple TV, while others can be watched live on MLSNEXTPro.com.
