Atlanta United 2 secured a 2-0 victory over Huntsville City FC at Fifth Third Stadium on Saturday night. The win marks the team’s fourth in its last five matches and extends its unbeaten run at home to five games.

The match opened with an early goal for Atlanta United 2 in the seventh minute. Gabriel Wesseh sent in a corner kick that was initially cleared, but Cooper Sanchez collected the ball at the top of the box, controlled it with his chest, and scored his first professional goal with a right-footed shot into the bottom left corner.

Huntsville City FC responded with attacking efforts. In the 23rd minute, Gunnar Studenhofft had a chance near Atlanta’s goal, but Dominik Chong Qui intervened to disrupt the play and clear the danger. Five minutes later, Jordan Knight set up Alan Carleton for a shot from just outside the box, but Atlanta goalkeeper Josh Cohen made a save to preserve the lead.

Before halftime, Atlanta doubled its advantage through Toto Majub. After Sanchez won possession in Huntsville’s half, Majub advanced from distance into the penalty area and finished off his own move—his first professional goal—after linking up with Ryan Carmichael.

Early in the second half, Atlanta United 2 nearly added another goal when Adyn Torres headed down for Chong Qui inside Huntsville’s box. Goalkeeper Brian Schwake made a close-range save to keep his team within reach.

Patrick Weah found the net for what could have been Atlanta’s third goal following a pass from Torres in the 72nd minute, but was ruled offside. Defensively, Atlanta held firm as Cohen recorded six saves and five shots were blocked by defenders to secure back-to-back wins.

“Atlanta United 2 (7-8-8, 31 points) returns to action Saturday, Sept. 13 when it travels to Carolina Core FC at Truist Point (7:30 p.m. ET, MLS Season Pass). Some ATL UTD 2 matches are available with an MLS Season Pass subscription, located on the Apple TV app while the remainder of matches are streamed live on MLSNEXTPro.com.”
