Atlanta Public Schools announced on March 12 that families, teachers, and community members are invited to participate in GO Teams, which help make decisions about school budgets, programs, and academic priorities.

The district said the involvement of families is important for shaping the future of students. The GO Teams allow parents and teachers to have a direct impact on their schools by sharing their perspectives and experiences.

According to Atlanta Public Schools, parents do not need to be experts to join; commitment and willingness to contribute are what matter most. The district highlighted examples of parents like Tere and teachers like Yoli who have inspired students through their participation.

The announcement encouraged more people from the community to apply for GO Team positions. “Your voice counts and the school needs you,” the statement said.

By inviting broader participation, Atlanta Public Schools aims to strengthen educational outcomes through shared decision-making.
