Atlanta Falcons promote four officers amid leadership restructuring
The Atlanta Falcons have announced the promotion of four officers as part of a reorganization led by President and CEO Greg Beadles. The changes are intended to improve efficiency and strengthen leadership within the organization.
Shannon Joyner, previously Vice President of Marketing, has been promoted to Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer. Nick Brown, who served as Vice President and Deputy General Counsel at AMB Sports and Entertainment, will now take on the role of Atlanta Falcons Vice President, Chief Administrative Officer. Spencer Treadwell moves from Vice President, Operations to Senior Vice President, Operations and Special Projects. Brandon Ruth has been elevated from Senior Director of Operations to Vice President, Team Operations.
"Over the past several months, we have evaluated every aspect of our business operations to identify ways to maximize efficiency and alignment across our business," said Beadles. "I'm thrilled to announce the promotion of Shannon, Nick, Spencer and Brandon. Our organization has benefitted greatly by having each of them here, not only as dedicated associates, but as outstanding people and leaders who put our values in action. They have my full confidence and support as they step into their new roles."
Joyner joined the Falcons in 2018 as director of marketing and has led initiatives such as the Dirty Birds Kickoff Rally and community programs like 404 Day. He also managed the club's involvement in the NFL Global Markets Program in Germany during their first regular season game in Berlin.
Brown began with AMB Sports and Entertainment in 2018 providing legal support across its businesses. In his new role he will oversee human resources and security for the Falcons while continuing his legal duties.
Treadwell started with the organization as an intern in 1995 before joining the operations team in 1998. He has managed operations at various facilities including IBM Performance Field in Flowery Branch, Georgia. As Senior Vice President he will continue work on renovations at IBM Performance Field and contribute expertise to projects such as developing a training ground for NWSL Atlanta 2028.
Ruth became a full-time member of the organization in 2013 after working on live events. For ten years he has overseen day-to-day operations at IBM Performance Field including maintenance and logistics for team travel. In 2022 he was named NFL Travel Director of the Year.
The Atlanta Falcons are based in Atlanta, Georgia, compete in the National Football League's NFC South Division, were founded as an expansion franchise in 1965, have made Super Bowl appearances in 1998 and 2016, and feature Freddie the Falcon as their mascot according to their official website.
