The Atlanta Falcons, based in Atlanta, Georgia, and members of the NFL’s NFC South Division, are making several changes to their football operations staff as they prepare for the upcoming season. The team has already named Matt Ryan as president of football and hired Kevin Stefanski as head coach. A new general manager is expected to be announced soon.

Tommy Rees has joined the Falcons as offensive coordinator after serving in a similar role with the Cleveland Browns last year. He previously worked with Stefanski in Cleveland and spent several years coaching at Notre Dame and Alabama.

“Rees spent the last two seasons with Stefanski in Cleveland, first as the Browns’ pass game specialist/tight ends coach and then as offensive coordinator. He spent the previous seven years at the collegiate level, primarily at Notre Dame (2017–22) but also at the University of Alabama (2023). Rees has spent his entire coaching career thus far working with quarterbacks in some capacity, which makes sense given he was the Fighting Irish’s quarterback from 2010-13.”

Jacqueline Roberts will become manager of coaching operations after working with the Browns since 2024. She began her NFL career as an intern within team logistics before being promoted to coordinator of coaching logistics.

“Roberts got her start in the NFL with the Browns in 2024 as an intern within team logistics, according to the team website. She was promoted to coordinator of coaching logistics in 2025, earning his first full-time role in the league. Last year, Roberts also assisted with all coaching operations at the Senior Bowl, working alongside Browns assistant head coach/special teams coordinator Bubba Ventrone. Roberts graduated in 2024 from Ohio State University, where she was a student manager for the women’s basketball program for three years.”

Dave Huxtable remains on staff as senior defensive assistant after joining Atlanta when Ryan Nielsen was defensive coordinator.

“Huxtable was brought on with the Falcons when Ryan Nielsen was the team’s defensive coordinator, specializing in work with the defensive front, particularly the outside linebackers in 2024. Prior to joining up with the Falcons, Huxtable had 40 years of coaching experience at the college level, including 18 seasons as a defensive coordinator.”

Nick Jones continues his role as assistant offensive line coach after two seasons helping develop one of Atlanta’s most productive rushing attacks.

“Jones has been with the Falcons as the assistant offensive line coach for two seasons, helping to direct a group that has produced one of the most productive rushing attacks across two years. Prior to that, Jones was in the same role with the Los Angeles Rams from 2021-23, where he was a part of a staff that led the Rams to a Super Bowl. He got his start in the league as a Diversity Coaching Fellow coaching the offensive line with the Falcons in 2020”

Michael Pitre will remain running backs coach following his work developing Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier into record-breaking performers for Atlanta.

“Pitre joined the Falcons in 2022 as part of Arthur Smith’s staff, and he has remained in Atlanta for now a third head coach because of the work he’s done with Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier, who have each broken franchise records under his tutelage. Since 2022, The Falcons have gained fifth-most rushing yards and they are only team alongside Detroit Lions to have two running backs ranked top 23 rushing yards… After coaching Robinson during offseason create more explosive runs…third-year back scored longest rushing play team history…Before joining Falcons Pitre spent one season Chicago Bears’ running backs coach.”

Bill Callahan comes on board as offensive line coach after spending time leading lines across multiple NFL teams including recent roles at Tennessee Titans and Cleveland Browns.

“Callahan has an extensive coaching resume that spans more than four decades. He has spent more than 25 years in NFL primarily offensive line coach…developed numerous Pro Bowlers…widely regarded league’s top teachers trenches…resume highlights include stints then-Oakland Raiders New York Jets Dallas Cowboys…large body work college ranks well including run head coach Nebraska…Callahan reunites Stefanski whom he worked for from 2020–23 Cleveland Browns’ offensive line coach.”

Jeff Ulbrich will continue serving as defensive coordinator after overseeing major improvements last season.

“Ulrbich led a defensive unit in Atlanta in 2025 that went from second-to-last in league sacks 2024 second overall 2025…group broke single-season franchise sack record behind attack-style defensive system Ulbrich implemented first year team’s defensive coordinator…This is Ulbrich’s second stint Falcons after being part Dan Quinn’s staff from 2015-20.”

The Atlanta Falcons were founded as an expansion franchise in 1965 and have reached Super Bowls twice—in both 1998 and 2016. Their mascot is Freddie The Falcon.
